Quite possible the most legendary wheel for all-mountain/downhill/freeride – the adapatability, legendary strength and upgraded reliability of these wheels shines through.
Taking heavy influence from the punishing BMX scene these MTB wheels are Ison’s super heavy-duty jump/downhill/Freeride wheels.
Sporting a massive 36mm rim you will not find a tyre that you can’t fit on these babies and the will match up against anything under 2.5in for maximum security and stability.
The double wall, double eyelet rims will shrug off pretty much any fall going as well, no wonder that extreme freeriders such as Josh Bender and Dirt Jumping sensation SAM “Leopard Head” Pilgrim are riding Halo now. Thirty-six spokes string up the front with the rear getting a woven wall of 48 straight gauge wires to spread stress and provide failsafe back up.
The Spin Doctor hubs are switchable from QR to 20mm through-axle at the front (but watch you don’t lose the adaptors in transit) and QR, Saint, 10 or 14mm bolted axles at the back. The bearings are well sealed and have lasted well, while a new grease port extends freehub life, and there is also a 150mm rear width option available.
Whilst originally available in black, white and then gold these rims are now available in a bright purple colour to make your bike stand out that bit more!!
